Senior Pictures in the Wildflowers
Okay here's the deal, I'm not going to say I'm a professional wildflower spot finder but also... I'm really good at finding wildflower locations in Arizona. Ok? Ok.
As a senior and family photographer over the last 10 years here in the East Valley, I have found some really amazing spots to capture the Arizona Wildflowers in all their beauty - this session happens to be a spot I found on the side of the road in Queen Creek; a little hidden walking path with the most gorgeous red and yellow flowers sprinkled in tiny fields along side it. Did I mention I found this spot in October? YES! Fall wildflowers - I'm obsessed.
The Best Times for Wildflowers in Arizona
As you read above, flowers don't just bloom in the spring - if we see a lot of rain in the early summer months, I even see flowers blooming in August in some of my spots.
Typically I'd say your best time to capture these beauties is going to be the last week of March through mid-April and August-October. These viewing times ALL DEPEND on the amount of rain we get throughout the year. If you're seeing a lot of rain in any given time frame, check around about 2 weeks after the rainfall and I bet you will see different areas starting to bloom.
February and May are also great times for flowers at a few private properties that I can rent for sessions - so basically, over half of the year in Arizona there are beautiful spots for photographing people in flowers believe it or not.
